Singing at the 02- Young Voices

Our school choir consists of children in years 4, 5 and 6 from both Suffolk Road and Westbury. Westbury choir rehearses every Tuesday night from 3:30-4:30 and Suffolk Road choir rehearses every Thursday night from 3:30-4:30.

We are currently learning a range of pieces which will be performed at the Young Voices Festival in February. Our choirs will perform on the evening of Thursday February 6th 2020.

The Young Voices Festival is something which happens all over England over a couple months. Thousands of school children gather at the O2 in London to perform a range of songs. They will also get the opportunity to perform with musicians such as: Ruti, The Shires and Tony Hadley. They will also get to dance a long with dancers from Urban Strides Dance Studio led by Andy Instone.

Please have a look at the website for more information regarding the event.

The choir will also take part in the Barking and Dagenham Music Festival on the 30th of March 2020. They will be joined by music groups from 4 other primary schools in the area. Each school will perform two of their own pieces and all 5 school will form a large ensemble to sing two additional songs. It is a great experience for the children to get to see other children performing and see what other local schools are doing in their choirs.
