Please find below important information on, how as parents, you can work together with Ripple Primary School to ensure that the children are given the best education in the safest possible environment.
We are constantly being asked for advice from parents on whether it is safe to send their child to school and whether they are well enough. Below are some of the questions we are asked daily:-
Q: Is it safe to send my child to School?
A: Ripple Primary are doing everything we can to keep children safe, and work closely with Local Health experts. If your child is unwell in school your will always be contacted.
Q: My child has a runny nose and they are sneezing, should I send them to School?
A: Parents are obviously anxious that this may be early signs of COVID 19 but it is important to remember that children do get seasonal colds. Only if they have a high temperature, a cough or loss of, or change in sense of smell of taste do parents need to get their child tested.
Q: A person in my household has symptoms of COVID and is awaiting a test, is it still okay to send my child to School?
A: Yes. Children who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID 19 do not need to self-isolate. Parents, should instead get a PCR test for their child. They should only isolate if they test positive.
Q: Should I advise the School if my child has undergone a test and it has come back negative?
A: You should always advise the School of the outcome of the test and send them a copy of the results whether negative or positive.
Q: Do I need to self-isolate when returning from a trip abroad?
A: If you are returning to this country from abroad you need to check the quarantine requirements for the particular country you are arriving from. You would have been asked to complete a passenger location form and checks will be made.
