For maths today, we are going to measure LENGTH!

This activity you can do outside.  You do not need to cut out shapes of your 2 feet if you don't want to, you can also use a pair of your shoes/ your mum or dads shoes...

Your mission is to measure how far/long items are apart from each other.  If you are indoors, you can measure how long each room in your house is.  If you are outside, measure the length between trees/ benches/playground equipment/leaves/rocks/bins..... The list is endless.  Which distance has the most steps?   Can someone help you to keep track of your counting?  Maybe record it on a piece of paper. Which area has the most steps?  Click on the instructions below and start measuring.

Task 2: You could also measure smaller items around you such as: pencils, pens, glue sticks, books, shoes, forks, spoons, toys etc. You could measure them using paper clips, tooth picks, wrapped sweets etc.
