PSHE/RSE

Intent

Our intentions at Ripple are to teach children life skills of the PSHE and RSE
curriculum. In line with the National Curriculum 2014, all schools must provide a
curriculum that is broadly based, balanced and meets the needs of all pupils. Under section 78 of the Education Act 2002 and the Academies Act 2010, a PSHE curriculum:
● Promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils
at the school and of society, and
● Prepares pupils at the school for the opportunities, responsibilities and
experiences of later life.
Through quality delivery, our PSHE programme aims to develop:
● confident individuals who know and understand how to live safe, happy, healthy,
fulfilling lives;
● young people who are able to maintain positive, respectful and healthy
relationships, within which they can thrive personally and socially;
● responsible citizens who understand they have rights and responsibilities that
help them make a positive contribution to society; and
● successful learners who enjoy overall learning, making progress and achieving
success
