Pupil Parliament

In 2022, Ripple rebranded our already successful school council as "Pupil Parliament". Our school councilors are now known as MPPs (Members of Pupil Parliament) and work together to bring positive changes across both of Ripple's sites. Pupil Parliament has gone from strength to strength and is now fully embedded in our school's culture.

MPPs meet regularly to discuss important issues that our pupils care deeply about and share the thoughts, feelings and suggestions from their classmates. They take part in decision making, meet with Mr Mitchell and many important visitors and are a vital and much valued part of our school. We have held two very successful climate change conferences, both of which attracted visits from local politicians and earned media attention. We were the first school in the borough to hold our own climate change conference and even received a congratulatory message from HRH Prince William & Princess Catherine, praising our passion for educating our pupils about the importance of climate change and teaching them about the small things they can do to make a big difference!

Our Pupil Parliament ensures that we meet Article 12 of Unicef's "Convention on the Rights of the Child", which ensures all children not only have the right to air their opinions but also makes sure they are taken seriously. We are proud of our commitment to enabling this, not just for our MPPs, but for all of our pupils.
