Barking junior parkrun x       

We had a special visit from parkrun who spoke to students about Barking junior parkrun and the exciting opportunities every Sunday to be active. They set up some mini events at school and students were able to run, walk and volunteer. It was a fun first experience of junior parkrun for lots of our students and we encourage you to attend Barking junior parkrun this Sunday, to see what it is all about!

junior parkrun is a free, fun, friendly, weekly, community event organised by volunteers of all ages for children aged 4 to 14. The 2k junior parkrun events take place every Sunday morning at 9am in the UK, Ireland and Australia. It is a great introduction for all the family to be physically active outside together on the weekend. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate with us, taking part is easy and it’s for everyone!

Here are details of your local event, Barking junior parkrun:

Address: Barking Park, Longbridge Road, Barking, IG11 8UD.

Every Sunday, at 9am (arrive at 8:45am for the fun warm up & welcome briefing).

A 2 lap course all on paths, all flat terrain. Start line is near the Splash Zone doing a small clockwise loop then 2 anticlockwise loops around the east side of the park (side closest to Barking Abbey School), finishing back near the entrance of the Splash Zone. Toilets are available, they are on the side of the cafe building approximately 300 metres from the start.
