In line with government guidance, children whose attendance falls under 90% are identified as persistent absentees.

It is important that your child attends every school day and is on time.

We do understand that children can become unwell. If you contact us every day to report your child’s absence and provide medical evidence, when requested, it will be authorised.

Unless your child is very unwell, they are expected to be in school.

Unauthorised absences of school age children can result in further action from the local authority including penalty notices and court action.

We will be closely monitoring children’s attendance and will contact families at risk of becoming persistent absentees.
